Wh
o's Who at the Directory
Susan Harris Founder
Susan Har
ris started the first World Wide Directory of Garden Coaches immediately after the New York Times published the first story about our new profession in June of 2007. With the wave of publicity that followed, the directory grew quickly, serving its intended purpose of promoting garden coaches and helping clients find coaches near them.

Susan's one of four bloggers at GardenRant, and also writes the SustainableGardeningBlog and the website Sustainable Gardening (with its many contributors). Susan coaches in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Jean Ann Van Krevelen Adminstrator
Then
in 2009 Jean Ann Van Krevelen, an Oregon garden coach and online marketing consultant, stepped up to create a new home for the directory - a Wiki+social networking platform that lets coaches create and update their own listings, as well as communicate with each other.

Robin Haglund, Founder of Garden Mentors inc
Moderator
Robin Haglund pioneered garden coaching in 2003, founding Garden Mentors to provide hand-in-hand gardening training to homeowners in the greater Seattle, WA area. She met garden coach directory founder Susan Harris in 2007 via the New York Times article featuring each of their garden coaching businesses and experiences. In a prior life, Robin was involved in the high tech industry. As a garden coach directory moderator, she hopes to use all of her relevant talents to ensure this community is easy to use for gardening clients and provides a fantastic networking service to our industry.
Kathy Green Moderator
Kathy Green has been helping people learn about gardening and nature for many years, and in 2006 opened her company All Things In Nature, LLC which provides garden design, planting, and garden coaching services in Colorado. Prior to this, Kathy was a Software Engineer for more than 20 years. Being one of the garden coach directory moderators lets Kathy provide help to those coaches who are a little technology challenged, and to lend a hand where ever she is needed.

I sent a message directly to susan, but maybe it shouldn't be her burden only :)

I have concerns about the free-form Wiki format. For instance, I can easily go in and delete everything anyone has ever written (except for a few "moderator only" areas). Not that I would, but folks are out there who love to mess up a Wiki...

Anyone have ideas to ensure we all play nice in this lovely new playground?

I have just joined the directory and when I was adding my link to the Oregon listing, I was concerned that I could have edited Jean Ann's info (of course I didn't!)
