Night lighting'All the Garden's a Stage:Choosing the Best Performing Plants for a Sustainable Garden'
Hello, my name is Jane C. Gates!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MY VITALS

Jane Gates

Occupation
:Garden coach, designer, artist, horticulturist, licensed landscape contractor

I've always been fascinated with how things grow. Gardening and nature have fascinated me for as far back as I remember. I also started drawing as an infant and insisted on starting art classes at the age of three. So, I guess it's not surprising that putting art and plants together became my main career. I've also done a lot of work with psychology which I use to find out what garden owners really like and don't and what really will work best for their lifestyle and family. People who buy my fine arts paintings are buying my vision. I believe a landscape should be designed to the owner's vision, not mine. My goal is to combine that vision with an ecologically friendly, yet aesthetically beautiful landscape solution. I love designing and coaching and there's nothing more gratifying than leaving a client happy and excited.

Location
: Santa Clarita, CA (Los Angeles county)

Describe Your Garden Coaching Practice:
My focus is on helping people create the most beautiful, yet practical garden possible that fits into their lifestyle, tastes and budget. In this economy I encourage:
Growing edibles to get both beauty and food
Being water wise to save our resources and make maintenance easier
Avoiding poisons wherever possible
Making the garden a place to heal the spirit in a world that can create too much stress
Helping people exercise in the garden while having fun and getting useful things done
Showing people how they can often get what they think they can't afford -- without spending the money!
Avoiding creating future problems
Creating special areas for kids, pets, sport or hobbies
Having fun, fun and more fun in the garden!

Jane - beautiful work. I'm just up the road in Santa Barbara. Are you having as much difficulty mastering the web page construction tools as I am?
